Big Bang @ F1 Grand Prix 2013

Let me just say it. I have the worst frickin' concert hangover on earth. And it's not even because of how great the concert was, I'll deal with that later, it was due to the fact that attending the concert entirely messed up my silly body clock.

I stumbled home at 2am in the morning mind you, and since silly old me forgot to grab a spare set of keys/it totally disappeared in the clutter of my home and I couldn't give a rat's ass about finding it in the morning due to my exam, I ended up ringing the door bell twice to no avail. Almost gave up hope in getting into the house and was resigned to my fate. At least my dog on the other side recognized me. Finally debated if I should call the home phone to wake someone up like the douche I am and thank god dad came to my rescue and welcomed me home. I could've just died of relief. Thumbs up for the dad for saving my arse.

Anyway, I'm blogging about this around two days late but ignore that please.

I shall start off with the end of the exams. Finished the last paper, hung around school to settle other stuff before heading off to city hall for the race! I had the one day pass - the Friday zone 4 walk about pass which was honestly really cheap. But they really just wanted to get more VIPs (Big Bang fans) to attend hence the apparently "cheap" price.

So we wandered around Raffles Place and went on a hunt for water because we didn't want to be scammed by the terribly overpriced food they'll sell inside the venue. Being the poor teenagers we are, we totally scanned the shelves of the marketplace to find cheap water ahaha comparing prices and all that. Who knew that they had 40 cents water there? Got it and headed in, and the security checks were rather stringent but considering the event its expected. There were tonnes of people streaming in which took me by surprise, I honestly didn't think that Singapore was that interesting to others (from a local's point of view).

We were there around 3+ when the weather was being a bitch so we headed towards the fanzone area which was literally a little enclosure where the fans would wait from 2pm till 11pm+ just to watch Big Bang. We went in, decided that waiting 7 hours for Big Bang was ridiculous and then wandered off to look for more interesting things to do.

The weather was super hot so we stopped in a little air conditioned room where there were live car simulators that you could actually drive which was really cool but we had not the slightest idea how to drive yet so we decided to skip the really long queue and just watch. After which, we went to watch the cars practising and then walked about before we spotted this super cool tent offering temporary tattoos. Typical Singaporean behaviour appears and we queued for it ahaha and its cool I got two tattoos on my inner forearms. Felt really cool about that. We hopped over to the adjacent tent to try a driving simulator after that.

It was like one of those arcade car race games expect that the track was that of the racing circuit and the car would actually shake and literally simulate what you'll feel when you drive a f1 car I suppose. So we ended up being the only few girls trying it out in a tent full of testosterone and I was literally freaking out because firstly - have little experience playing such games and would definitely screw up. And secondly - all the people lining up were like judging whoever was playing and would definitely judge us la like "wtf those girls so pathetic" and all that.

Was observing the people in front of me play and to my relief most of them sucked too. HA. So I didn't feel that inferior and all. I only flipped over once and had a relatively smooth drive lol I feel so proud of myself. Thought I'd end up as a road rage kinda driver but I was pretty good if I could say so myself.

I sound so self-centered but you know what, screw that.

After having fun doing weird stuff like that, we headed to meet some other friends and got food. The food was pretty awesome but I didn't end up getting anything because it was all super overpriced and the servings were pathetic. I would've gotten some sets that had beer with it but I'm obviously not of age to do so yet and would definitely not have succeeded in fooling anyone.

We wandered back to the Big Bang concert area and contemplated going back into the fanzone again but we stupidly decided against it because we thought that it was super crowded and not worth it anyway. So we stayed near the barrier just outside the fanzone and set up our little camping site with the ponchos that we obviously wouldn't be needing since the weather was great. We thought that being so close to the barrier, we would get a good view of them since the extended stage would bring them super close to the barrier anyway.

I decided to get my money's worth and went on to check out another act. Daby Toure. And I just have to say that his music is absolutely amazing I was so entranced and I really loved his performance. Feel so happy to have caught his act in the end. Everyone was just so chill and there were people dancing about in front of the stage - sounds super hippie I know but it was just so awesome and laid back and everyone was so engaged. I'm so going to find out more about this guy's music and I'm going to download everything I can find even though I feel like his music really comes out so much better live. His performance is just something so intangible that you'd really have to be there to experience it. The atmosphere was amazing, the people were amazing and the music was great. I honestly enjoyed it even more than I liked Big Bang's performance later.

Headed back to the field where the friends were waiting and to my horror the crowd had totally extended near to the back of the field. Had to walk through so many people to get to where we were and we still had to wait well over another hour to see Big Bang. Most of us dozed off, blame the exams, and were just trying to relax when all of a sudden, a whole bunch of douches just walked straight to the front of where everyone was picnicking and totally hogged the front of the barrier.

Then a nightmare happened.

The whole bloody field of people behind us started getting up and walking to the front like a frickin' scene from The Walking Dead. And we were like super stunned and quickly rushing to pack up and put our shoes on that we ended up quite behind and stuck in the crowd of people. And the worst thing is that we were totally and utterly squeezed in the middle of nowhere. People in the back were pushing like shit and we were fuming mad because people literally "cut our queue" even though we weren't in any way queuing. I thought that Singaporeans had more sense than pull these kind of low blows to those who had been waiting patiently much longer. And I thought that we could civilly make our way to the front when the time comes without any idiots starting such a frazzle but NO, some bunch of idiots were too inconsiderate and decided to be blatantly walk up to the front and stir some shit up.

So everyone just totally pushed to the front and the worst thing was everyone just panicked wanting to get a good view to they left their stuff on the floor (us included) and it was just so selfish I guess I got really upset with that. Spent the remaining 45 minutes waiting for Big Bang whining about how messed up everything was to my friends and constantly complained about not being able to see anything because of the people in front of me (WHO CUT OUR "QUEUE" BTW) had bloody big heads and were tall la. Being the midget I am I obviously complained like shit. Not to mention the guy behind me was moving about and totally groped about sometimes /shoots silent glare/.

And so the concert started and I realised within the first few minutes that I had the horrible luck of being stuck with lots of guys surrounding me and my friends and that the people surrounding me were like totally not high. What a downer. Like, you know when you're in a crowd and the people are super fun and high, which makes you even higher than you are before. And then when you and your friends are super high but the people around are sooooo dead and are constantly turning about judging you because they don't know how to let go so it kills the mood and you're just having fun on your own but you can't have that much fun because you're with a bunch of people who are just stoning there.

I was also craning my neck like mad just to catch a glimpse of them live so that sucked cause I mostly had to watch them off the huge blown up screen. Screw ya'll with big heads in front of me. Tip to all short girls out there - if you're ever at a standing concert, wear whatever heels/shoes that give you height and if you have a guy friend who's really buff and doesn't mind carrying you on his shoulders, you're super lucky. But I managed to see them all live which was pretty good imo.

GD was super cheeky and adorable I cannot. He and Seungri and like my favs from the bunch of them so I was like internally spazzing about how perfect they were. They really tried hard even though the crowd's reaction was less than stellar. And their fanservice damn /dies/.

Their performance was solid and everyone just screamed at awkward T.O.P. lol I swear I was in a zone of T.O.P/Dae fans. No. Make that the people behind me were fans of them and the people in front and surrounding me (not including my friends) were just stoning.

And ri totally forgot his lyrics lol. He went like "oh shit that's my line" /freaks out/ /mumbles some gibberish for a second/ /bashful smiles/ "WHOOP" HAHAHA super adorbs.

GD was totally cool and being awesome and having fun on stage. T.O.P. being shy and not saying much just killin' them fangirls with that stare and deep voice and his suit. Daesung being awesome with his high notes and sincerity. And Taeyang's dancing was goooood. Seungri was trying so hard with his engrish lol and I feel like he's really improved and his solo was so hot /fans self/. He went like "I love Singapore" at least 5 times through the night lol ri is that all you know? ;)

So all in all Big Bang was pretty awesome even though I'm not a die hard fan I've really got to admit that they're one impressive group. Love their music, love their stage presence, and they're really great live. Just wished that I was watching them at a closer range (because of their fan service oh gad TOP totally caressed Dae fml and GD's sexy stare at ri.) and they definitely interacted much more with the people in the fan zone. There's just that feeling of intimacy when you're watching your favourite stars up close I suppose that I really like.

That's all I have to say. Enjoyed the performances and would definitely attend more of such F1 gigs in the future. :)

Cheers.
